Urgent Notice Issued on Defibtech AED Pads in Ireland: Public Advised to Check Labels
A critical Field Safety Notice has been issued by the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) concerning unauthorized labels found on Defibtech AED (Automated External Defibrillator) pads in Ireland. The notice, aimed at public safety, highlights concerns over the functionality of affected AED pads.
Individuals and organisations with Defibtech AEDs at their premises—whether at workplaces, schools, homes, or other locations—are being asked to check the labels on their AED pads. Regardless of where the device was purchased, Defibtech advises owners to send a picture of the label for verification.
According to Defibtech, pads with unauthorized labels cannot be guaranteed to function correctly. However, if affected, the company will provide replacement pads free of charge.
A copy of the official Field Safety Notice, containing details on how to identify unauthorised pads, has been shared. For further assistance or information, individuals can contact First Aid Coaching via email: firstaid@firstaidcoaching.ie for support, regardless of where the AEDs were sourced.
