Transition Year Opportunities – What better way to spend a Transition Year than to attend a course that offers a fantastic opportunity to maximise the time given to our youngsters. Graduates at 17 or 18 can play rugby across the globe or are qualified as Strength & Conditioning (S & C) or Personal Fitness Coaches and are plying their trades immediately! At only 19 years of age, a recent female graduate has a professional contract with the Irish Women’s 7s rugby team travelling the globe in the HSBC 7s competition. A large number students, both male & female have and continue to represent at Irish Provincial & National levels across all age ranges. Best of all, it fits into your school year system!
Rugby Academy Ireland – In 2018, former South African Springboks player Dan VAN ZYL who has coached Leinster Rugby U18, U19 and Women’s teams as well as Irish students, Irish youths & AIL along with international Asian Nations Cup winning coach & fellow World Rugby educator, Johan TAYLOR opened Rugby Academy Ireland, a pioneering independent international rugby academy. We are proud of our new location being at the stunning and historic Stradbally Hall, Co. Laois, Ireland. Imagine your aspiring rugby children spending time where Rugby meets Downton Abbey!!!
The Academy caters for both males & the ever growing female groups and the ethos is simple, develop the individuals rugby skills to be the best they can be, setting them up for future further development. There are a range of programmes available that will attract players at all levels and that can be built on over time from 1 day skill or position specific courses through to a week/month and up their flagship 8 month Transition Year course. At the end of the 8 months, students will attain a trial with a club across the globe, commensurate to the level they are at.
Learning Pathway Programme – At the heart of the Academy, is the Learning Pathway Programme, an exclusive range of skills and qualifications that assist students through life. From Nutrition to S & C, from Video & Performance Analysis to Coaching, from Refereeing to Sports Psychology & Physiotherapy and a host of other related skills. We now offer CV & Interview training plus the opportunity for a recorded “Virtual CV”. These are generally available for those attending the 8 month course which attracts students from across the globe.
