RNLI Hosts Free Water Safety Webinar to Mark World Drowning Prevention Day – Open to All
As summer draws people to beaches, lakes, and rivers across the country, the RNLI is urging the public to take part in a vital, life-saving initiative. On World Drowning Prevention Day, Friday 25 July, the RNLI Water Safety Team will host a free online talk from 7–8pm, offering practical advice to help keep everyone safe around water.
With the powerful message “Anyone can drown, no one should”, the event aims to raise awareness and share essential water safety skills that could prevent tragedy and even save lives.
Whether you’re a seasoned open water swimmer, a weekend paddleboarder, a dog walker along the coast, or simply someone who enjoys spending time near the water with your family, this session is for you. The webinar will cover key topics such as how to spot potential dangers, what to do in an emergency, and how to help others without putting yourself at risk.
Drowning can happen quickly and silently — but with the right knowledge, it can be prevented.
Empower yourself, your friends, and your family. Join the RNLI’s expert team for this accessible and informative session and help spread a culture of safety in and around the water.
