The Irish Air Corps also runs TY Work Experience weeks during Transition Year calendar, these places are limited and highly sought after. We advise teachers or parents to get in touch with the Air Corps TY Coordinator in August before starting the TY Academic year. This is something you will want to start planning in 3rd Year.

Student Controller Programme
| An Air Traffic Controller is responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of air traffic on and in the vicinity of airports and in the airspace for which Ireland is responsible. Our air traffic controllers keep aircraft at safe distances from each other in the air and on the ground, while arranging them in an optimised order for takeoff or landing along organised flight paths. We use systems and processes to remove the risk of collisions, while allowing the maximum number of aircraft to fly safely in our skies. RCSI School of Dentistry launch their undergraduate teaching clinics (Every Wednesday, April–May 2026), and they are inviting Transition Year students (aged 16+) to participate as patients in the supervised dental training programme.

Pharmaceutical Work Experience

Stacks Pharmacy – Dublin
Role: Over-The-Counter Assistant
Duties: The role will mainly involve assisting and interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner while developing strong customer service skills. This includes gaining knowledge of pharmacy products to effectively assist customers and learning how to recommend suitable products based on their needs and requirements.
