LogisTYcs – a FREE TY event from the Department of Transport in Dublin This March

For the attention of the Transition Year coordinator.

The Department of Transport wish to extend an invitation to you to register your school’s Transition Year students’ interest in attending Ireland’s inaugural LogisTYcs event.  

This is a Free Event for TY students

This is a free event designed specifically for Transition Year students focused on providing them with a fun and interactive event which will provide them with knowledge and information on future career and educational opportunities within the supply chain and logistics sector. LogisTYcs is taking place on the 1st of March. The event runs over two sessions, one in the morning, one in the afternoon.  

We kindly invite your school to register your interest for your Transition Year students to attend this unique learning experience. We encourage early registration to ensure your students can participate. 

 Event Details:

• Time: 10:30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm

• Topic: Supply Chain and Logistics Careers and Educational Opportunities

• Venue: Sport Ireland Campus, Snugborough Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, D15 EPN4

LogisTYcs is a free event that will include Drone deliveries and display, HGV and Forklift simulators to learn on, Stage talks from a guest MC, an influencer, and young people working in this sector as well as exhibitions including sustainable technology vehicles (Electric, Gas Powered and HVO Vehicles). 

The event is designed to be both informative and engaging, providing students with a firsthand experience of the various stages within the industry including a Women in the Sector stand. The event will encourage interaction and engagement using a fun gamification system for the students.

Winning teams will receive tickets to Mondello Park to experience the Early-Drive | Electrified by Opel experience, a unique driving and road safety programme designed for teenage students to learn how to drive and get behind the wheel of a car for the first time. There will also be other opportunities for students to win branded gifts throughout the sessions.

Please note a room hosting one on one chats and providing info packs will be available for students who prefer a quieter event.

Additional information

Students are to be divided into teams of six by their teachers in advance of the day to ensure balanced teams. Throughout the expo, the students can earn points for their team and their school. 

Teams with the highest points earn great prizes. 

1st Prize            Win your class tickets to Mondello Park to experience the Early-Drive | Electrified by Opel experience, a unique driving and road safety programme designed for 13- to 17-year-olds who are eager to learn how to drive and get behind the wheel of a car for the first time. Available to classes (minimum 30 students to maximum 45 students) for mid-week booking.

2nd Prize          You and your 5 teammates can each win a ticket for the Early-Drive | Electrified by Opel experience in Mondello Park.

This event is a key part of Logistics and Supply Chain Skills Week 2024, a Government of Ireland led initiative to promote the logistics and supply chain sector to students, new entrants, and potential career changers. 

Spaces are limited, we may have to limit the number of students registered by school to a maximum of 45 students.
