SUMMARY:2026/27 Global Money Week Launch
DESCRIPTION:The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is delighted to be Ireland’s GMW coordinator again!    \n\n\n\nIn this role\, we will hold the 2026 Global Money Week launch event in Croke Park on March 11th\, ahead of the official OECD launch on March 16th.  \n\n\n\nA highlight of the launch event is celebrating Our Money\, Our Future\, the CCPC’s sponsorship programme supporting schools and Youthreach centres to deliver student-led financial education initiatives. This year\, 82 schools received sponsorship with creative projects ranging from setting up mini-companies to produce and sell food products\, to stock market simulations and exploring gambling risks with probability-based games. The launch event provides an opportunity to showcase these inspiring initiatives and the positive impact they are having in schools and communities across the country. \n\n\n\nThis year’s theme is: ‘Smart money talks’ \n\n\n\nFinancial education gives the tools – from budgeting basics to navigating digital finance – to open conversations that can prevent anxiety and mistakes. Financial literacy can empower young people to build healthier financial habits\, avoid pitfalls\, and take control of their journey toward financial well-being. \n\n\n\nTo apply for sponsorship for your school/centre’s financial literacy initiative for 2026/27\, please visit cccp.ie or follow us on LinkedIn \, Instagram.
